QuickBooks journal-entry CSV preflight

Map a source CSV to QuickBooks journal-entry fields, check every journal balances, and prepare the final file locally in your browser up to 200 MiB.

Choose the source CSV

Use a recurring POS, vendor, bookkeeping, or general-ledger export.

One CSV up to 200 MiB. File contents stay on this device.

Account naming for subaccounts

If a line posts to a QuickBooks subaccount, include the parent account and subaccount separated by a colon. Simple parent accounts can stay as a single name.

Parent account: Sub Account

Dates may use YYYY-MM-DD or a valid slash/dash date with a four-digit year. QuickBooks asks you to select the matching source date format during import.

If a journal line posts to Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable, QuickBooks may also require a Name such as a vendor. This six-field preparer does not add that conditional Name field.

  • Six-field QuickBooks journal mapping
  • Per-journal debit and credit balance checks
  • Parent and subaccount naming guidance
  • Browser-only processing

How should subaccounts be written in the Account Name column?

QuickBooks requires a subaccount journal line to include its parent and subaccount separated by a colon, for example Parent account: Sub Account. The preflight flags malformed colon-separated account names before export.
