A bulk redirect import looks simple until old URLs come from several exports, spreadsheets, or migration tools. The safest workflow is to normalize the pairs first, validate the whole redirect graph, and only then import the CSV into Shopify.

Start with two columns

Keep one column for the old address and one for the destination. The source should normally be a store path such as /collections/old-sale. An internal destination can also be a path, while an external destination can be a complete HTTP or HTTPS URL. Nablyx accepts common source and destination header names and lets you override the detected columns.

The current browser-local source limit is 10 MB. Your redirect list stays in the browser while it is checked.

Normalize before import

The preparer adds a leading slash to internal paths and removes unnecessary trailing slashes. A full source URL is reduced to its path because Shopify redirects are defined from store paths. The exported file always uses the exact headings Redirect from and Redirect to.

Validate the graph, not only each row

A row can look valid on its own and still create a poor redirect plan. If /old-a points to /old-b and /old-b points to /new-b, visitors take an extra hop. If two or more redirects eventually point back to one another, the result is a loop. The preflight finds both patterns, along with duplicate sources and sources that point to conflicting destinations.

Import after the blocking errors are gone

Warnings deserve review, but conflicts, loops, empty values, invalid URLs, and Shopify-reserved source paths block the prepared download. Once those errors are fixed, download the Shopify CSV and import it from Shopify's URL redirect area. Keep the source spreadsheet as your migration record so later changes can be compared against what you imported.
