Make CSV safe for Excel — free, no upload

Nothing uploadedTested up to 300 MB

Neutralize spreadsheet formulas, preserve identifiers and date-like text, and export CSV or explicitly typed XLSX without uploading your file.

Make a CSV open more safely in Excel by neutralizing formula-like values, preserving leading-zero and long numeric identifiers and date-like text, normalizing surrounding whitespace, and adding a UTF-8 BOM to CSV output by default. The detected input delimiter is preserved. Processing stays in your browser with no upload and accepts one file at a time. You can download CSV up to 300 MB or XLSX up to 25 MB. CSV is capped by processing time: the next tested rung with many columns exceeded the wait budget while memory stayed low. XLSX is capped much lower because spreadsheet generation uses substantially more memory as input grows, even on its streaming path. XLSX writes every value as text; CSV keeps risky source values from being interpreted directly by wrapping them in a spreadsheet-safe text form.

Stop Excel and Google Sheets from guessing your CSV values

  1. 1

Choose a CSV containing identifiers or untrusted text.

  2. 2

Choose CSV or a real XLSX with explicit text cell types.

  3. 3

Select the formula, number, date-like, and whitespace protections.

  4. 4

Review exact change counts and the capped preview.

  5. 5

    Download the complete spreadsheet-safe file.

Built for the real task

  • Formula-injection neutralization
  • Leading-zero and long-ID preservation
  • Date-like text protection
  • Real XLSX with explicit inline-string cells

A dangerous formula becomes text while 00123 stays 00123

Make spreadsheet formulas harmless while preserving identifiers such as 00123 exactly as text.

Input
=SUM(A2:A9)
00123

Browser limits

Files are limited to 300 MB to protect browser stability, especially on phones. Processing stays on this device.

Formula-injection neutralization

Neutralize spreadsheet formulas, preserve identifiers and date-like text, and export CSV or explicitly typed XLSX without uploading your file.

Private by design

Common uses

  • Formula-injection neutralization
  • Leading-zero and long-ID preservation
  • Date-like text protection
  • Real XLSX with explicit inline-string cells

Why is XLSX safer than CSV for these values?

CSV has no cell types, so spreadsheet software guesses. XLSX declares every exported value as an inline string, so Excel does not reinterpret identifiers, date-like text, or formula-prefixed content.
